Former US President and upcoming election candidate Donald Trump has made a U-turn on his stance on Bitcoin, saying he can live with it.
In an interview with Fox News, the billionaire acknowledged that BTC, the leading digital currency, is under widespread scrutiny and is dying, saying some regulation of the asset is needed.
Living with Bitcoin
Trump said he has seen some interesting events surrounding Bitcoin, such as more and more people wanting to use the cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services.

He said, "As you know, you may need some regulation. But a lot of people are accepting it, and more and more people want to pay in "Bitcoin", you will see some interesting things. So, I You can take it one way or the other. I've always loved one thing that's really powerful, and that's the dollar."
Trump’s recent comments about Bitcoin stand in stark contrast to his general stance on cryptocurrencies. He is known to criticize crypto assets and has repeatedly stated that he is not a fan of crypto assets.
Trump’s anti-Bitcoin stance softens
Three years ago, Trump said investing in crypto assets was a potential disaster. He called Bitcoin a scam, insisting it was fake and accusing it of downplaying the U.S. dollar.
Additionally, the billionaire urged authorities to regulate cryptocurrencies “very strictly” as they harm the U.S. dollar. He believes strict cryptocurrency regulation will undermine the U.S. dollar’s ??dominance and restore Americans’ investment in the currency.
However, Trump's stance began to soften in 2022, when he announced the launch of a non-fungible token (NFT) series that sold out within 24 hours of launch, netting the politician nearly $100 Ten thousand U.S. dollars.
