The main suspect was a member of the underworld organization Tiandaomeng American Eagle Association named Zheng. By spreading advertisements in the community, the victims clicked links and entered the LINE group, claiming that they could help You invested in Tether (US dollar stable currency $USDT), but it was actually a fake investment and a real money fraud.

How do fraud syndicates deceive people? It turned out that the victims were provided with fake apps and virtual wallets to remit money, and then falsely claimed to invest in Tether. The victim could see the increase or decrease in the account numbers of the Tether coins he held, but he could only see them but could not claim them. The suspect named Zheng transferred them to a cold wallet in an attempt to avoid tracing.

The suspect surnamed Zheng also created an identity called "Xiao Mei", led the victims to invest through many "beautiful teachers", and rented a store in Wanhua District, Taipei, so that the victims could let down their guard and go to the Transfer money or pay cash in-store.

Currently, this fraud case has resulted in 40 victims, with cumulative losses exceeding NT$60 million. Among them, the one who suffered the most serious losses was a 60-year-old retired woman from the insurance business. During this period, she made nearly 10 consecutive remittances and was defrauded of more than 20 million yuan.

The Criminal Bureau stated that after grasping the cryptocurrency transaction flow and abnormal information of the fraud group, it was handed over to the First Investigation Brigade for investigation and successfully arrested the main suspect named Zheng. Subsequently, the police conducted a search in Sanchong, New Taipei, and also arrested 9 other accomplices, and they were brought to justice for violating the fraud and money laundering prevention laws.

Not only this case, the police also uncovered another scam related to Tiandaomeng in January this year. According to a report by Public Television News Network, a main suspect who claimed to be a member of the Tiandao Alliance Zunxian Association established a fraud group and used the altar to cover up the fraud. He also specially recruited young people to join, with victims all over Taiwan.

Among them, a 72-year-old woman in New Taipei mistakenly entered a stock investment group opened by a fraud group and made 13 consecutive remittances totaling 3.7 million yuan. After receiving the money, the fraud group intensified their efforts and asked the woman to exchange real estate mortgage for cash.
